carter reed norton

mr carter came to us on september 12, 2015 at 12:21pm weighing 8 lbs 2 oz

my pregnancy was very similar to dexters, easy, but a little more painful as time went on...i'm getting old:)

time came friday night that i finally nested and got the carseat, the swing, the bassinet, all cleaned up and ready to go! i did laundry and got organized! i didn't quite get everything done, but enough that i was happy and ready to do a bunch more the next day. well about 2 am that night i woke up to a contraction, nothing too painful but enough that it woke me up and when you wake up when you're pregnant at night you HAVE to go to the bathroom...so when i went to the bathroom i saw my underwear and pants were a little soaked. i remember with dexter my water slowly breaking the week before he came so all i thought was ok here we go - carter is coming to us next week!

well i tried to go back to bed but kept contracting, so it was hard to sleep. plus dexter woke up because he was sick with a little cold so going to bed was not happening. around 2:30 my water broke! i felt a pretty decent gush and so i woke up dave letting him know - he insisted i went back to sleep so i agreed and then a few minutes later...gush! ahhh more water...ok dave this is getting real. well he wasn't convinced. so then a few minutes later...gush! ok we're up and having this baby! ahhh

so i got in the shower, dave took a shower, i called my mom and we took dex down to her and headed to the hospital. we checked in around 4:30am and got going on the checking and hooking up of everything. i opted not to get my epidural yet as i wasn't quite dilated to a 2 yet. i told my nurse my history of dexters birth so she guessed i would have carter around 1pm saturday afternoon.

my contractions were getting closer and closer and i went to the bathroom one last time, then opted for the epidural.

i started to dilate 1 centimeter every hour and when i got to a 5 - i jumped to a 9 within an hour! whoooopeeee this is finally happening! they called dr. froerer and he was on his way.

he finally got there about noon and he got all prepped for me to push. i pushed for maybe 15 min or less and here came our full headed brown haired boy!

he is such a handsome little guy and my heart is so full to have 2 of the sweetest little guys :)

the hospital stay was great and we had not as many visitors this time around (thankyou:)

dave was amazing and such a trooper. he went home every night to stay with dex and between my parents and daves they helped take care of dexter.

i'm so grateful for a safe pregnancy and a stress free labor. i'm so in love with this little guy and can't wait to be his momma!
